|SKPs are a Special Kind of People|
The park facilities were first occupied in early 1989 after years of preliminary search, planning, land purchase, and finally park construction. The great bulk of this work was done by knowledgeable and skilled volunteers. In 2017 we still have 6 of those venturesome pioneers present in the park. We honor them for their foresight and perseverance at a park birthday celebration dinner.
The park has its own water system with a well, a sewage processing system, and its own power distribution system. All full service sites have their power metered.
There is a clubhouse with a large hall, a library, a laundromat, pool table, office, card room. The laundromat, toilets and showers are available 24/7.
There is free Wi-Fi.
There is a heated pool and a shuffleboard court.
We have 127 full hookup sites with water, sewage, and 50/30/20 Amp electric service. 125 of these sites are assigned to members and 2 are occupied by camp hosts during the winter season. Member sites that are idle are generally available for rent to SKP visitors.
Also available for rent to our SKP visitors are 6 “overflow” sites that have water and 20 Amp electric service.
There are several boondocking sites, some numbered and some impromptu spots in common grassy areas as needed.
For an additional charge, a sewage dump is available.
Dumpsters for household trash are available. Boxes should be flattened to minimize volume in dumpsters. Aluminum cans can be recycled in the laundry room.
While we have social campfire events in a common area, individual campfires are not allowed.
